HWD Hospital Radio won two awards at the 2008 HBA Hospital Broadcasting Awards at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds (held on March 29th). Jordan Hemingway won the bronze in the Best Newcomer category and our Ring-a-Relative trailer took silver in the Station Promo category.
always on the air
Broadcasting 24 hours a day from our studio complex on the first floor of the Ridings Building, we provide a range of programmes which include news, requests, entertainment, information and local sports commentaries.
The station is staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donations, grants and monies raised by our own regular fund raising events such as sales of work, coffee mornings, stalls in the hospital and seasonal fayres.
